
About the class
HeartSaver® First Aid CPR AED is an American Heart Association (AHA) course designed to teach participants the skills needed to respond to and manage a medical emergency until professional help arrives. Through a video-based, instructor-led format, students learn how to recognize emergencies, provide immediate care, and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively.
This training covers first aid basics, adult CPR and choking, and AED use, with the option to include child and infant modules as required. By combining engaging video demonstrations with guided hands-on practice, participants leave with the confidence to act quickly and effectively in real-world emergencies.
What You’ll Learn
• Recognize and respond to common first aid emergencies (e.g., bleeding, burns, choking, shock)
• Perform high-quality CPR for adults (and optionally for children and infants)
• Properly use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Assist a choking victim of any age
• Understand the steps to take until emergency medical services arrive
• Apply workplace safety protocols and meet OSHA compliance standards
Course Format
• Instructor-Led: Participate in an in-person class with an AHA-certified instructor, combining video-based learning with hands-on skill practice.
• Time Commitment: 2.5 hours
